Dear William T. Rogers Middle School Families,

As you’ve likely seen by now, school will be closed on Monday (1/26) due to the winter weather. While we always hope storms take it easy on us, this one had other plans; so it’s time to officially pivot.

With Monday now off the table, we are moving forward with our adjusted midterm plan, which simply means the schedule slides back one day. Keeping things predictable and student-friendly remains our priority.

Midterm Schedule for the Week

• Tuesday (1/27) - Day 2: ELA Midterm
• Wednesday (1/28) : Social Studies Midterm
• Thursday (1/29): Science Midterm
• Friday (1/30): Math Midterm
• Makeup Exams: The following week

I want to reassure families of something we often remind students: for most courses, midterms count as one test grade. Aside from students enrolled in 9th-grade courses, these exams are just one snapshot of a much larger picture. Preparation matters, effort matters, but a single exam does not define a student’s success.

As always, we are keeping student well-being front and center. If midterms bring added nerves or stress, our guidance counselors, social worker, and school psychologist are available and ready to support.

Students have their Chromebooks at home and should continue checking Google Classroom for any teacher updates or reminders as they prepare over the next couple of days.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we adjust to the weather and keep students’ best interests at the forefront. Enjoy the unexpected pause tomorrow, stay safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday.
